Sevastopol was founded as a military fortress and the main base of the Black Sea Fleet. The whole history of Sevastopol is inseparable from the history of the fleet and from the sea. The coast around Sevastopol can boast the best most convenient well-sheltered bays in Crimea. The most popular tours for tourists are sea trips on yachts and pleasure boats around The Great Sevastopol Harbour, The Southern and The Artillery harbours. During these tours you will see well-preserved military shore batteries of the XIX century, Russian and Ukrainian military ships and other vessels at the numerous piers of the city. You will learn the history of the navy and city. You can travel further on to the far-off harbous – Quarantine, Kamyshy, Kazachya, and capes Chersonesos and Fiolent. It is a small secluded stony beach surrounded by towering cliffs. You can get there only from the sea side.
